An open pit mine is the current preferred option to achieve the proposed capacity increase because of the scale of the ore body, BHP Billiton is undertaking a two year pre-feasibility study, which includes the examination of a broad range of alternatives

28/02/2007 - Penola Pulp Mill - Supplier Registration Portal. Penola Pulp Pty Ltd is in the process of developing a pulp mill at a site 8 kilometres south of Penola and 22 km north of Kalangadoo in south-east South Australian a region known as the Green Triangle. The mill, designed to produce 350,000 air dry tonnes per year of mechanical pulp, will be a ‘sister’ to the Heywood Pulp Mill. Click here to register your interest.
